Earth Day Celebration and Blessing of the Bicycles
On Sunday, April 26, St. Matthew’s will observe Earth Day at the 10:30 Family Service. One of the ways in which we celebrate our stewardship of the earth is by lowering our transportation carbon footprint. Bring your bicycles, bus passes, walking shoes, scooters and inline skates and join us for the “Blessing of the Bicycles”.
At the
Souper Sunday lunch following the service, children will have the opportunity to fill small containers with suitable materials that birds can use to help build their nests. The children can then take these home, put them in places accessible to their local birds and watch the action.
Great Glebe Garage Sale – Join Us!
The Great Garage Sale (GGGS) is one of our major fundraisers and a highlight of the year. It’s a wonderful community event — full of energy, connection, and fun with fellow parishioners.
Join us on Saturday, May 23, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. 10% of gross sales will be donated to the Ottawa Food Bank.
We need your stuff! Donations make this event a success — please view the poster for details on top-selling items and more information.
Volunteers are always welcome — there are lots of ways to help, and it’s a great time! For more information, please contact the church office at

Scarf & Jewellery Sale
St. Matthew’s annual Scarf and Jewellery sale takes place in December each year.
This charity sale is held in the church hall, 217 First Avenue near Bank Street, Ottawa. Fabulous selection of designer scarves, purses, jewellery and ties included as well as some Christmas decorations.
25% per cent of revenues go to the Ottawa Food Bank.
All proceeds to charity.
No Sales Tax.

Online Treasures Auction
Art, Books, Experiences, Vacations, Valuables, Beautiful Things
St. Matthew's annual Online Auction took place on November 13-23, 2025.
The auction had a fascinating range of items on offer including fine art, antiques, silver and jewellery, fashion items, food items and more. All proceeds go to charity. No Sales Tax. Many thanks for your support!
Souper Sundays
Souper Sundays are a time of fellowship for our church family. Come and meet other members and enjoy some of the best soup ever! Please check the online calendar for dates. They typically take place on the last Sunday of the month after the 10:30am service.
All are welcome!
Doors Open Ottawa 2022
St. Matthew’s was open for in-person visits during the 20th anniversary of Doors Open Ottawa in June 2022. Visitors were also able to take a virtual tour from the comfort of home!
