On Wings of Song
This lovely festival of ancient and modern choral music and readings, celebrates the Advent of Christ. The service is sung by the choir of St. Matthew’s with hymns sung by the choir and the congregation, and readings done by members of the congregation and clergy.
Advent is a time of spiritual preparation as we watch and wait for the fullness of the Kingdom of God in our lives and in the world. Through the Holy scriptures and sacred music, we journey for the early prophesies of the Hebrew scriptures through to the announcement of Jesus’ birth. The service is sung by the St. Matthew’s choir and the readings are done by members of the congregation.
