Toronto's Hart House Orchestra

St. Matthew’s Welcomes Toronto’s Hart House Orchestra, Saint-Saëns Third (Organ) Symphony: St. Matthew’s is delighted to welcome the Hart House Orchestra from the University of Toronto on Sat., Feb. 17 at 7:30 pm. The featured work on the program will be Symphony Number 3 (Organ Symphony) by French composer and organist/pianist Camille Saint-Saëns. The orchestra is conducted by Henry Janzen, Music Director and Principal Conductor, who performed as a violist during St. Matthew’s Lenten Recital Series last year. The pipe organ will be played by St. Matthew’s Director of Music Robert Hall. The program also includes Carl Maria von Weber’s Clarinet Concerto No. 2, featuring clarinetist Sean Lin, and Hector Berlioz’s Overture to Benvenuto Cellini. Proceeds from the performance will support the ongoing maintenance of the pipe organ at St. Matthew’s. Freewill offering.
